“My brother Ankur's case has been quite a journey. It started back in October 2024 when he came to the hospital with severe stomach pain and couldn't stop throwing up. The doctors initially thought it might be a blockage, but when they did a CT scan, they found something more serious - his pancreas was severely inflamed and parts of it were dying off. They call it acute necrotizing pancreatitis.
Things got worse pretty quickly. They had to move him to the intensive care unit because his condition was declining rapidly. He developed some complications - bile was leaking inside and there was fluid building up, so they had to put in drains. The doctors kept changing his antibiotics daily, trying to find the right combination to help him.
At one point, we were really scared. His blood counts dropped dangerously low, and they found blood clots in another CT scan. To make matters worse, he got something called C. diff, which is a bacterial infection. But then, finally, some good news - he started responding to the treatment. His blood counts normalised, and the drains weren't collecting as much fluid. They were even able to move him out of the ICU to a regular ward.
Now, he's awake and aware of his surroundings, which is a huge relief. But we're not out of the woods yet. He still has a persistent fever, and the doctors are concerned about his skin. They found something in his brain cultures - a bacteria called Klebsiella pneumoniae. They're treating him with several antibiotics, including Tigecycline and nebulized Spiramycin. He needs a bit of oxygen support - just 1 liter - to keep his oxygen levels at 92-93%.

The good news is that he's able to eat normally now. They've got him on quite a lot of medications - Tigecycline, Poly B, Zosyn, Arom, and Vancomycin. Just yesterday, they found E. coli in his urine, so they're adding even more antibiotics to fight that off.
It's been hard seeing my brother go through all this, but he's fighting hard. The doctors are being thorough and adjust his treatment as new issues come up. I'm just hoping all these medications do their job and he can come home soon.
But all these medications and hospital stays come at a cost of a set of lakhs. And we need your help with it. From our side we have done everything we can, we just need a push which you can help us with.
